CMC & ETMA
What is the CMC?
The Combat Medical Conference Association (CMCA) is the driving force behind one of the most influential international initiatives in tactical medicine. At the core of its activities stands the Combat Medical Care Conference (CMC)—its primary platform and flagship project.
Since 2014, the CMC Conference has brought together military and civilian clinicians, medics, and operational experts from around the world. It represents the practical and scientific embodiment of CMCA’s mission: to advance combat casualty care and tactical medicine through education, collaboration, and the translation of real-world operational experience into improved medical practice.
Through the CMC-Conference, CMCA enables global knowledge exchange, hands-on training, and the continuous development of medical readiness across the full spectrum of care—from point of injury to definitive treatment.
Collaboration with ETMA
Reinforcing its role as a central connector within the European and international tactical medicine community, the European Tactical Medical Association (ETMA) has established a strategic partnership with the CMCA.
ETMA contributes a dedicated focus on establishing scientific and evidence based knowledge in high-threat medicine and addressing existing gaps within tactical medical care during complex operational scenarios.
Within this partnership, CMCA—through its CMC Conference—serves as the primary platform for:
Integrating European expertise into a global framework
Translating operational lessons learned into education and practice
Hosting and shaping joint activities such as the TEMS Symposium
Enabling cross-border collaboration and professional exchange
At the same time, ETMA expands the scientific and European-level dimension of this collaboration by connecting national efforts on an international and multilateral level and supporting structured, evidence-based development across borders.
Shared Vision
Together, CMCA and ETMA strengthen a unified European and international approach to tactical medicine—leveraging the CMC Conference as the central hub for innovation, exchange, and progress in improving casualty care under high-threat conditions.
